CICADA4CE kick off meeting
The CICADA4CE project, funded by the Interreg Central Europe Programme, aims to improve urban adaptation to climate change by integrating ecosystem services and social approaches. The project aims to strengthen the involvement of citizens and stakeholders in the development of effective adaptation strategies. In five pilot cities in Central Europe, "urban living labs" are being implemented where local communities work together to develop action plans for better adaptation to climate change. The partnership involves 12 organisations from six countries and the project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with a total budget of €2.14 million.
The project aims not only to design effective policies but also to increase the capacity and competence of all stakeholders in the field of climate adaptation. In this way, the effectiveness of urban adaptation strategies is increased and the active participation of citizens in addressing climate change issues is strengthened. IURS will work closely with the South Moravian city of Breclav in this project.
Kick off meeting of the project took place on 13-14 June 2024 in Katowice, Poland, at the headquarters of the main project partner IETU - Instytut Ekologii Terenów Uprzemysłowionych.
